You
There's not much I can tell you about you that you wouldn't already know. You are yourself, and we've only barely just met. In fact, you could say we've only half-met. That is, of course, unless we've met before, then hello! (also, "SKEEW!" and ... "SPOON!!" ... "ladle" ... if you know, you know).
Back to you, there is one thing, while it may be obvious (you never really know until it's stated), is all of this is all for you. I mean the "you" in the editorial sense, plurally... the 'royal' you? (lol). I can't mean the you you... the real you. There are times when, in my writings, a particular individual may have set the inspiration, but I'd be hard pressed to think of a song I wrote for a specific someone.
It's been my sense that entertainment can be specific in a story of the characters therein, but the relation to reality is better blurred. So, my writings tend to be vague, general, based in a blend of experience and imagination, and attempt to reconcile some moment in time. The goal of course is performance. In order to perform for you, I need to have a much longer selection of music available than the hours I'm scheduled to play. This is to ensure I can swap out songs if needed to fit the venue, and requires hours of practice daily over the course of years.
Ars Gratia Artis. Hm. Perhaps. I tend to be a bit more sociable than that, I always try to make a connection with the people I meet in life. And, some may argue art is not art unless shared. In my youth, one of my favorite art forms was live music. I've worked throughout the yeas to belong in the group of live performers. I'm grateful for every opportunity and the people I would have otherwise never met. Not every performance goes to plan, and that's life. But, I always work to understand the venue and audience to offer the best experience I'm capable of providing. Because, in the end, a successful performance has less to do with the technical setup of wires and tuning pegs than it does with the audience's satisfaction.
So, with you in mind, I make and share my music.
